Per Arne Glorvigen: Tango con amigos!

Our international tango master leads the audience through the curious history of the bandoneon

Completed

Intro

Like opera, tango combines poetry, chamber music, song and dance to create a fervent Latin collaborative work of art. Our international tango master, Per Arne Glorvigen, leads the audience through the curious history of the bandoneon. From the German parish halls of the 1800s, the tour takes us to the lively brothels, bars and dance halls of Buenos Aires in the early 1900s, before culminating with Astor Piazzolla’s revival of the genre that can be experienced in concert halls today.

With two of today’s premier tango dancers, Pablo Inza and Sofia Saborido, Tango for 3, singers from the Norwegian National Opera and musicians from the Norwegian National Opera Orchestra, everything is set for a performance steeped in tango magic. The evening will end with a dance for the audience in the foyer.
