The young Norwegian soprano Caroline Wettergren studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo and at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.
During her studies she performed roles such as Sophie in Werther, Despina in Così fan tutte, Musetta in La Bohème, Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos, Lucia in The Rape of Lucretia and Erice in Cavalli's L'Ormindo.
Since then she has sung Adelaide in Lulu and Serpetta in La finta giardiniera at the Norwegian National Opera, Queen of the night in Die Zauberflöte and Frasquita in Carmen at the Ringsaker Opera and Vespetta in Scarlatti's Dove amore e gelosia at the Kristiansund Opera.
As a concert singer she has appeared in works by Bach, Fauré, Handel, Haydn, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Orff, Schubert and Villa-Lobos. In May 2015 she sang Solveig in Peer Gynt in Berlin with the Berliner Symphoniker.
Upcoming assignments include La Fée in Massenet's Cendrillon at Komische Oper Berlin Papagena in Die Zauberflöte with the Kristiansund Opera, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro with Opera Trondelag, Queen of the night in Die Zauberflöte with Opera Ostfold, Madame Herz in Der Schauspieldirektor with OperaKysten, a new opera at the Midtåsen Cultural Festival and concerts of Orff's Carmina Burana with the Norwegian Youth Symphony Orchestra.
