The Norwegian National Ballet


The Norwegian National Ballet consists of 67 Norwegian and international dancers. Besides classics like Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker the company's repertoire covers new creations as well as works by internationals masters such as Jiří Kylián, Nacho Duato, George Balanchine, William Forsythe, Sol León & Paul Lightfoot as well as Liam Scarlett and Alexander Ekman. Resident choreographers are Alan Lucien Øyen and Jo Strømgren.

On Tour

In the season 2018/2019, The Norwegian National Ballet will visit St. Petersburg and Shanghai with respectively Epic Short by Hough and Ibsens's Ghosts by Moum Aune and Espejord, both signature pieces created in Oslo. In June 2019,The Norwegian National Ballet 2 is going to London to perform at the Royal Opera House.

The Prix de Lausanne

The Norwegian National Ballet is partner with the Prix de Lausanne.

The Prix de Lausanne, an international competition for young dancers, is open to young dancers of all nationalities aged 14 to 19 who are not yet professionals.

The objective of the Prix de Lausanne is to help young talented dancers start in their professional careers. The winners of the contest receive scholarships that allow them to complete their training for one year in one of the schools or professional dance companies, partners of the Prix de Lausanne
