Miharu Maki


Miharu Maki was born in Fukuoka, Japan. She studied at the Sakamoto Ballet Studio, Goh Ballet School in Vancouver and Royal Conservatory of the Hague in the Netherlands. She won the second prize in the Kitakyusyu and Asia International Ballet Competition in 2001, and reached the semifinals in the New York City International Ballet Competition in 2007. Miharu Maki was an apprentice at the National Ballet in Amsterdam before joining the Norwegian National Ballet in 2006.

With the Norwegian National Ballet Miharu Maki has danced Kitri in Nureyev's Don Quixote, Bluebird in Petipa's Sleeping Beauty and the pas de trois in Holmes' Swan Lake.

She has danced prominent solo roles in Bjørn's The Nutcracker, Corder's Romeo and Juliet, Bjørnsgaard's A Modern Place*, Kylián's Falling Angels, Boyadjiev's Lost in time*, Øyen's Dead To The World*, Duato's Arcangelo and Strømgren's Partita*.
