The piano series: Joachim Carr
Solo recital starring the winner of the International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition
Joachim Carr is a pianist who has become familiar to many in recent years. Since winning the Norwegian Young Pianists Competition at the age of 13, he has won a variety of international awards, including First Prize, the Audience Award and the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra's Prize at the International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition in Bergen. He also won second prize in the Princess Astrid International Music Competition in 2010.
Chamber music and solo performances have taken Carr to venues such as the Oslo Concert Hall, Grieg Hall, Wigmore Hall, the Berliner Philharmonie and the Konzerthaus Berlin. As a soloist he has performed with the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and the Lithuanian Symphony Orchestra. This season marks his inaugural performance in the Second House with his own solo recital.
