The Piano Series: Ole Christian Haagenrud

Young virtuoso



Ole Christian Haagenrud is one of the most promising young pianists in Norway. In 2014 he completed his diploma with the Norwegian Academy of Music, where his teachers included Jens Harald Bratlie and Håvard Gimse. Haagenrud has performed solo with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. 

A sought-after chamber musician and accompanist, he appears regularly at music festivals in Norway and around the world. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed in the UK, China, Croatia, the Netherlands, Russia, Spain and Germany. He has also won awards in a variety of competitions. In 2008 he won the Norwegian Young Musicians Competition and was named "Musician of the Year", and in 2014 he also received the Robert Levin Festival Performance Award.

The Piano Series features the elite amongst Norwegian pianists, and they will be playing pieces from the vast piano repertoire in the Second House.
