He débuted as a pianist in New York in 1996, having previously studied both song and conducting. Since then he has performed solo concerts the world over and played with some of the most prestigious orchestras and conductors.
Among other things, he has been a soloist for the Berlin Philharmonic, the New York Philharmonic and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, as well as collaborating with conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Velery Gergiev, James Levine, Zubin Mehta and Riccardo Chailly.
Volodos has also recorded several CDs where he has performed Schubert sonatas, and solo pieces by Rachmaninoff, to name just a few.
