Szymon Kubiak

Polish baritone singer Szymon Kubiak studied both as a singer and an oboist. He studied at the Academy of Music in his home town and studied vocal training at the Academy of Music in Augsburg with teachers such as James Taylor, Hans-Joachim Beyer and Rudolf Jansen. He has also participated in several master classes with Margaret Baker-Genovesi, Brigitte Fassbaender, Sena Jurinac, Ian Burnside and others. From 2003 to 2008 he was with the chorus of Theater Augsburg and gave a number of solo performances as Lord Guglielmo Cecil in Maria Stuarda, Gregorio in Romeo and Juliet, Morales in Carmen, Montano in Ohtello, Marullo in Rigoletto, Count Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro, Papageno and the Speaker in The Magic Fluteand Masetto in Don Giovanni. He made his solo debut in 2004 at the Salzburg Festival as Nazarener in Salomeunder the direction of Rudolf Piehlmaier. He had a stipend to attend the Bach Academy in Stuttgart and was also a member of the Bayreuth Festival Chorus. He has been with the Norwegian National Opera Chorus since 2008/>
