How to get to the Opera House
On foot from Oslo Central Station: The Opera Bridge was removed on 1 October 2013. A new walkway goes past Christian Frederiks Plass (on the ocean side of the Østbanehallen shopping centre) and the Tollbodene buildings, and crosses Langkaigata. The walkway is clearly signposted. Read more about the Norwegian Public Roads Administration's project here:

By train: Via NSB to Oslo Central Station. For journey times and to order train tickets on your phone, download the NSB app.

By tram or bus: Alight at Jernbarnetorget/Oslo Central Station, and follow the walkway and signs on the ocean side of the Østbanehallen shopping centre.

By car: The closest parking options are the car parks at Oslo Central Station, Sørenga and Byporten, as well as public parking spaces in the centre of Oslo. Disabled parking spaces are available to the north of the Opera House, along the pavement by Operagaten.

Practical info

Cloakroom and storage
The Opera Foyer features an free, unstaffed cloakroom area where you can leave your outer garments. If you want to leave bags or small baggage items (rucksacks, small suitcases, bags), lockers are available for a deposit of NOK 10. Unfortunately, we do not have space for larger suitcases, etc. We recommend using the left luggage facility at Oslo Central Station instead.

What if I arrive late?
If you arrive late, you can follow what is happening on-stage via screens placed in the public area on first floor. You may enter the auditorium in the first interval. Unfortunately, we cannot admit latecomers except for during intervals, as doing so could interrupt the performance for the artists on-stage and for other members of the public in the auditorium.

Use of mobile phones, videoing or taking photographs disturbs both other audience members and performers, and is not permitted during performances at the Oslo Opera House. Please switch your phone off completely or put it in silent mode. During the interval or in public areas that are not part of the performance, a free wireless network is available for mobiles and tablets. Select the network named Opera-gjestesone.

Persons with disabilities

Entrance: An entrance suitable for wheelchair users is located by the main entrance, on the far left.  The door opens automatically at the press of a button by the entrance.

Lifts: Entrance to the Second House and the Studio is directly from the Opera Foyer. Access to the balcony in the Main House is via lifts located on both sides of the auditorium. Lifts are signposted.

Companion cards (ledsagerbevis): If you have an official companion card (issued by your district or local municipality), a free ticket is available for your companion. Companion tickets are available for almost all performances except for certain guest performances.
